WELCOME TO THE THOROUGHBRED RECREATIONAL PROGRAM
The TRP is a program that was initiated through TRRAC in 2022 to help assist, train, and place retired thoroughbred horses into leisure and non-show homes, as well as assist owners and adopters with educational clinics, events, and training.
The TRP will also partner with other venues and host fun events such as competitive trail obstacle challenges, judged trail riding, gymkhana games, mounted archery, recreational ride events, and other hosted activities.
TRP Certified horses are horses that have passed a standard of tests and specialized professional training. Horses who are TRP certified are offered for adoption once they pass a series of assessments. These horses must demonstrate professional training and offer skills to amateur riders who are seeking trail or leisure horses to ride and enjoy. TRP-certified horses must demonstrate a willingness to work while maintaining a quiet demeanor and safe riding and handling practices.
